Thriller Sub-genre's - Psychological Thriller

A psychological thriller plays completely on the protagonists mind and involves mental conflict, emotional problems and other psychological hurdles for the character rather than physical. They are either forced or voluntarily brought into a situation where they are not prepared and must rely on purely mental resources rather than physical strength to overcome enemies and objectives.

They must either battle a formidable opponent trying to decipher their mind games and mysteries while also trying to catch each other. Or the protagonist must decipher their own mind trying to reach inner peace and get rid of their abnormalities and problems.
