Hitchcock directed, wrote and produced over 50 movies in a career that lasted six decades. It lasted so long due to his unique way of making the movies such as the camera technique of making the viewer feel in the movie, by using the camera to roam around as a human would.

Another feature Hitchcock did to raise his own profile was make appearances in his own movie and have unique openings staring him. These were known as Hitchcock movie cameo's:

Many of his films have been considered the best thrillers of all time, some notable ones are: Psycho (1960) a story of a woman who steals $40,000 from her employer and is terrorised by a deranged hotel manager, Rear Window (1954) where a man who breaks his leg starts to spy on his neighbour, but it gets bad when he thinks the neighbour has murdered someone. Rebecca (1940), North by Northwest (1959), Vertigo (1958) And Dial M for murder (1954).
